» THE SYMBOLISM OF THE ROSE AND ITS COLORS

The Rose as the matrix and leitmotiv of our accessories

The embellishing rose will dress up in its best color. Lyrics of the tango song El día que me quieras (The day you love me), by Gardel and Le Pera.

The rose is, essentially, a symbol of aim, absolute fulfillment and perfection. It is because of this that it can bare so many identifications that match the meaning of the rose as a mystic center, the heart, the Garden of Eros, Dante’s paradise, the loved woman and Venus’s emblem. In the mystic symbolism, the lily and the rose carry an essentially symbolic image ("My beloved is white and ruddy" Song of Songs 5, 10).

More precise symbolism derive from its color and number of leaves:

When the rose is presented as a circle, its meaning corresponds to that of the mandalas.
The seven petal rose alludes to the septenary order: seven spacial directions, seven days of the week, seven planets, seven degrees of perfection. The eight petal rose symbolizes regeneration.
